Literature Text

Keimi was a beautiful mermaid. She and her pet starfish, Pappug, always had fun. Unfortunately, both of them have one thing in common. They have the bad habit of nearly being eaten by Sea Kings. Sea Kings are much larger than their normal sized counterparts.

One day, after nearly being eaten many times, Keimi had enough.

"I'm tired of being nearly eaten by those beasts, I want to fight back!" Said Keimi.

Pappug had to agree with her, "I'm with you, Keimi. But how can w-"

Just than, something bobbed up and down in the waves close to them.

Keimi's naivety soon caught up to her as she soon inspected the strange object.

The object looked like a grapefruit and had something written on it. It said, "When you eat me, your trouble with the Sea Kings will be below you."

Keimi didn't know what to think of it, so she decided to eat it.

"Hm, I guess it's just an ordinary fruit." She said.

Pappug said, "Come on, lets get out of here. A sea king is bound to show up."

The next morning, Keimi and Pappug were exploring. Just as predicted, a Sea King, one that resembled a Moray Eel, showed up.

Both of them were soon in it's jaws, but something happened.

Keimi suddenly inflated like a puffer fish.

Pappug was shocked at Keimi's sudden inflation

"What's happened to you?!" he yelled.

"I don't know!" she wailed.

The Sea King couldn't get a good grip and was forced to let go.

Once the danger was gone, Keimi soon deflated to her regular figure.

Pappug said, "I didn't know you were part blowfish."

Keimi replied, "I'm not, it must have been that fruit I've eaten."

She remembered of what it had said. "All here troubles with the Sea Kings would be below her."

It turns out that the fruit was actually a rare, magical fruit that only mermaids can eat. Once a mermaid eats the fruit, she can inflate as a defense mechanism.

She was thrilled that, even though it's not a fight, she can defend herself and her teacher/pet.

Now she can just inflate and hover above the sea with her Starfish, away from the hungry mouths of the Sea Kings.

The End

Keimi has eaten a fruit that has a weird effect on mermaids that can come quite handy in the realm of Sea Kings.
